ENGLISH<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, 15th<\/sup> April, I participated in a seed exchange in our village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of a group pushing for local food resilience in our district community, this was one of the first events we organised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had no idea what the reaction would be in the village where this kind of exchange had never been organised. Besides, mid-April for a seed exchange is already a bit late, but we had to start somewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two persons, one of whom had already organised a plant exchange, had told me not to expect many people to be really interested. Or that they would come empty-handed to take what we gave without any desire to swap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We took advantage of market day which occurs in the village centre every fortnight, to set up our table and the seeds we could exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the way, to do this kind of action in France, you have to apply to the town hall, and if you want to benefit from another event, it is better to talk about it with the other participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was bitterly cold and windy, but it wasn’t raining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were able to talk to several people, including a young woman, newly arrived in our village in 2021. She came with a tomato plant in its little pot, while apologizing for not having much more to offer. A beginner gardener, she still had some seeds in her bag. We had a great chat with her. Visits to each other’s gardens will be arranged later in the season. She should come to our next event where there will also be workshops to talk about canning, in which she is very interested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We gave seeds to others who didn’t bring anything, but were interested in our approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then there were people who came by, who looked at us from a “distance”…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But in the end, we had a great morning and had some really nice encounters, all this in a small village of 800 inhabitants, where not many people have a vegetable garden any more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After this beautiful moment, all I had to do was sow my new seeds. Fortunately, my garden is big and can still be enlarged… I am already dreaming of all the new wonderful vegetables that I will grow there, not to mention flowers and an aromatic plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le samedi 15 avril, j\u2019ai particip\u00e9 \u00e0 un \u00e9change de graines dans notre village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faisant partie d\u2019un collectif pour la r\u00e9silience alimentaire locale de notre communaut\u00e9 de communes, c\u2019est un des premiers \u00e9v\u00e9nements que nous organisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous ne savions absolument pas quelle r\u00e9action auraient les habitants du village ou ce genre d\u2019\u00e9change n\u2019a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 organis\u00e9. En plus mi-Avril pour un \u00e9change de graines, c\u2019est d\u00e9j\u00e0 un peu tard, mais bon, il fallait bien commencer un jour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deux personnes, dont une qui a d\u00e9j\u00e0 organis\u00e9 un \u00e9change de plantes, m\u2019avaient dit de ne pas m\u2019attendre \u00e0 voir beaucoup de gens vraiment int\u00e9ress\u00e9s. Ou qu\u2019ils allaient venir les mains vides pour prendre ce que nous donnions sans aucune envie de faire du troc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous avons profit\u00e9 du jour du march\u00e9 qui a lieu tous les quinze jours au centre du village pour installer notre table et les graines que nous pouvions \u00e9changer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c0 propos pour faire ce genre d\u2019action, il faut bien-s\u00fbr faire une demande en mairie et si vous voulez tirer b\u00e9n\u00e9fice d\u2019un autre \u00e9v\u00e9nement, il est pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable d\u2019en parler avec les autres participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il faisait un froid de gueux avec beaucoup de vent, mais il ne pleuvait pas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous avons pu \u00e9changer avec plusieurs personnes ce qui inclus une jeune femme, fra\u00eechement arriv\u00e9e dans notre village en 2021. Elle est venue avec un plant de tomate dans son petit pot, tout en s\u2019excusant de ne pas avoir beaucoup plus \u00e0 offrir. Jardini\u00e8re d\u00e9butante, elle avait quand m\u00eame quelques graines dans son cabas. Nous avons super bien discut\u00e9 avec elle. Des visites de nos jardins respectifs seront organis\u00e9es un peu plus tard dans la saison. Elle devrait venir \u00e0 notre prochain \u00e9v\u00e9nement o\u00f9 il y aura aussi des ateliers pour parler de conserves, ce qui l\u2019int\u00e9resse beaucoup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous avons donn\u00e9 des graines \u00e0 d\u2019autres qui n\u2019avaient rien amen\u00e9, mais qui \u00e9taient int\u00e9ress\u00e9s par notre d\u00e9marche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et puis, il y a des gens qui sont pass\u00e9s, qui ont regard\u00e9 de \u00ab loin \u00bb\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais finalement nous avons pass\u00e9 une super matin\u00e9e en ayant fait de vraies belles rencontres, tout \u00e7a dans un petit village de 800 habitants, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 finalement il n\u2019en reste d\u00e9j\u00e0 plus beaucoup qui ont un potager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s ce beau moment, il ne me restait plus qu\u2019\u00e0 semer mes nouvelles graines. Heureusement, mon jardin est grand et peut encore \u00eatre agrandi\u2026 Je r\u00eave d\u00e9j\u00e0 de tous ces nouveaux l\u00e9gumes merveilleux que je vais y faire pousser, sans compter des fleurs et une plante aromatique.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
